Northcote Pavilion House

An existing 1940s house on the site was retained and modified to provide bedroom accommodation and bathrooms. A linking hallway connects to a new pavilion, framing two courtyards and providing northern orientation. The pavilion contains kitchen, dining, living area and alfresco.

Materials: concrete block internally, CSR Urbanstone cladding panels and radial sawn silvertop ash, zincalume roofing.

Sustainable features: passive solar designed floorplan, thermal mass from the insulated concrete slab and reverse block veneer walls, double glazing throughout, high specification insulation, water tanks, led lighting, solar hot water system, hydronic heating, solar pv array, ceiling fans.

The pavilion achieved a 9.2 star energy rating.
